. Sometimes events can be dismissed as mere coincidences. At times, seemingly coincidental events can reveal a great mystery.
Consider the following two seemingly unrelated phenomena and join them up in a logical sequence; you get a hard-to-dismiss revelation about a significant happening from the realm of the unknown.
Sri Aurobindo was a great freedom-fighter, poet, and philosopher, renowned world-wide. His philosophy, termed the Integral Yoga, is highly original, though with its foundations in Vedanta. Sri Aurobindo stated that a moment would soon come when the Cosmic Soul, the Supramental Consciousness, would descend on Earth. This would result in humanity progressing towards the next stage of evolution, from Mind to Supermind.
Sri Aurobindo took Samadhi in 1950. The Integral Yoga was developed in collaboration with a French lady, who was titled by Sri Aurobindo as the Mother. The Mother is regarded worldwide as a great Yogi in her own right.
On February 29, 1956, the Mother experienced a vision. In her words “This evening the Divine Presence, concrete and material, was there present amongst you. I had a form of living gold, bigger than the universe, and I was facing a huge and massive golden door which separated the world from the Divine.
“As I looked at the door, I knew and willed, in a single movement of consciousness, that “the time has come”, and lifting with both hands a mighty golden hammer I struck one blow, one single blow on the door and the door was shattered to pieces.
“Then the Supramental Light and Force and Consciousness rushed down upon earth in an uninterrupted flow.”

Now let’s consider a well-accepted medical phenomenon.
(The following is an excerpt from http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/when-does-consciousness-arise, by Christoff Koch)
‘..when does the magical journey of consciousness begin? Consciousness requires a sophisticated network of highly interconnected components, nerve cells. Its physical substrate, the thalamo-cortical complex that provides consciousness with its highly elaborate content, begins to be in place between the 24th and 28th week of gestation….. Thus, many of the circuit elements necessary for consciousness are in place by the third trimester. By this time, preterm infants can survive outside the womb under proper medical care. And as it is so much easier to observe and interact with a preterm baby than with a fetus of the same gestational age in the womb, the fetus is often considered to be like a preterm baby, like an unborn newborn.
Now let’s co-relate these two phenomena in a logical sequence, in the backdrop of space and time.
Let’s take time first. We have the date Feb 29, 1956. For arguments sake, let’s assume that the Supramental Consciousness entered a specific fetus on that date. We have seen that the fetal brain develops a structure to exhibit consciousness during the seventh month of pregnancy, between the 24th and 28thweeks after conception. So, the probability is high that this Divine fetus was born in May 1956. If we take the mid-point of the period 24-28 weeks, that is 26 weeks, this Divine fetus was born in the middle of May 1956.
We now take the list of some notable births in mid-May 1956.
May 11th – Theresa Burke, Canadian journalist
May 11th – Alex Lester, British broadcasterMay 13th – Aleksandr Yuriyevich Kaleri, Russia, cosmonaut (Soyuz TM-14)May 13th – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder of the Art of Living FoundationMay 14th – Gillian [Marucha] Bradshaw, US, sci-fi author (Hawk of May)
May 14th – Steve Hogarth, Kendal England, vocals (Marillion-Clutching at Straws)
May 17th – Sue Carpenter, TV presenter/journalistMay 17th – Sugar Ray [Charles] Leonard,

Now, dear reader, which is the most likely of the above births to be the Supramental Consciousness?Who has been producing a tremendous spiritual and social transformation worldwide? Is it not difficult to guess?
Let’s now take space. The vision of the Mother was at Pondicherry. Was there a birth in mid May 1956 in the proximity of Pondicherry?
Yes, there was. The only notable birth near Pondicherry in mid May 1956 was in a small town 125 km from Pondicherry. A town called Papannasam.
A vision by an internationally renowned Yogi! A birth at the correct time and place! Is the above mere speculation, mere coincidence?
Or is 13 May 1956 a date of profound significance to humankind? A date that will increasingly emerge on the global consciousness, as marking the beginning of an epoch?
