There are millions of western Christians who practice yoga and do not feel they are committing a sin. Why should Indian Christian bishops oppose Narendra Modi’s International Yoga day? You want to know why? it’s because the kind of Christianity practiced in India is the one that was prevalent in Europe in the 19th century, when missionaries ruled the roost. Today European Christianity has evolved and is beginning to accept the reality of other faiths (Buddhism, not yet Hinduism). European Christians who come to India visit temples without any qualms and have sympathy for the Hindu way of life. Whereas Indian Christian priests tell their flocks that they are committing a sin if they enter a temple, wear a puttu or do yoga and might even go to hell! It’s the most conservative type of Christianity you probably find in the world today. And they are getting away with it! FG

  1. The important question is whether or not this Yoga Day is being openly presented as a day for the Hindu religion? If not, then it is pure deception.

  2. yoga was always an exercise for the body and soul…not connected with religion whatsoever…hinduism itself believes in commonality of all religions…labelling yoga as a hindu conspiracy is like labelling trench warfare as an achievement in humanity.
