For those of you who know #Delhi, the bungalows allotted to ministers and MP’s, in such places as Janpath road

For those of you who know #Delhi, the bungalows allotted to ministers and MP’s, in such places as Janpath road, Tuglak road, Akbar road, Ashoka Road, are palatial. Big white colonial houses, with lovely gardens and lawns, servants quarters, long tarred driveways and parkings. It is the disproportion between these quarters, the perks, the immense power, the huge sycophancy (at any time there will be dozens of people waiting for the MP’s/ Ministers int heir houses to ask for favors (not to work, mind you), the potential money making ways, and the poor people who voted for them in remote places in Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh or Orissa, that creates corruption, and makes them forget that they were elected for the people by the people of India. That is why also these Ministers and MP’s never want to leave these palaces int he heart of the Capital, long after they ceased to be in office. These houses were made for the elite of the Britishers, who ruled a country of 400 millions. Mr Narendra Modi, it would be better to scrap the bungalow allotment to Ministers and MP’s and give them flats, so that they remember at all times, that they have to work for the people of India, not for themselves,as mots of them do.
